The Future Internet: Service Web 3.0
Future Internet – Supported by STI International: www.sti2.org With over a billion users, today’s Internet is arguably the most successful human artifact ever created. The Future Internet, an initiative driven by the European Union, has become a prime research focus of STI International and the Service Web 3.0 project. In order to explain, promote, and attract new contributors, we created a video to be viewed by stakeholders, who may be non-experts, in a new generation Internet. The video outlines the basic themes of the European Union’s Future Internet initiative. These include an Internet of Services, where services are ubiquitous; an Internet of Things where in principle every physical object becomes an online addressable resource; a Mobile Internet where 24/7 seamless connectivity over multiple devices is the norm; and the need for semantics in order to meet the challenges presented by the dramatic increase in the scale of content and users. God I hope so, I hate going to language classes.
The Future Internet Public Private Partnership, defined in a white paper released by the European Future Internet Initiative (EFII) yesterday provides a nice summary and hopeful 5 year plan of what could be achieved – visit future[dash]internet[dot]eu
Amazing!
The hegemony of English on the Internet will only increase over time. Every new technological advancement in language use is followed by a reduction in the number of languages. The printing press standardized national languages in Europe, wiping out countless distinct dialects. The Internet will have the same effect, IMO.
Be skeptical of the claims and purpose behind this perspective and attitude. This video cost too much to make to not have a profit motive. “Every milk carton will be on the Internet” is an advertisement for a company’s technology and tech services. You must decide if you really want this.
i like your clip! thats what am doing to make web3.0 become true
