311 has had their fair share of ups and downs. Before they entered the music scene, the band has already been through some tough experiences like being on the verge of poverty and switching band members. But despite all that, they were able to keep their focus on their music.

Each one of their albums are by-products of their extensive touring of the United States and other countries as well. They worked hard to promote their songs which ranged from alternative to rap to funk to heavy metal.

The band released their first album in 1993. Even though Music was released more than a decade ago, it still commands attention because of its quality. It’s single Do You Right got decent airplay and even reached the 27th spot on the Billboard Modern Rock Charts, though it did not propel the album to sell as much as it should.

This is where one can be confused with identifying a successful song, or album for that matter. Usually, we only say a song or record is successful when it is topping the charts and selling like pancakes. When an album reaches a gold or platinum status, then it is considered a success, or when the record brings nods and recognition from different award giving bodies.

What we don’t realize is that success of a record is relative. A record doesn’t have to top the charts consistently to be called successful. Personally, success of a record has much to do if people think the content is good for listening. 311’s Music is very nice to listen to.

In this album, 311 compiled all their earlier LPs. Songs like Do You Right, Feels So Good, and Fat Chance, because of their great quality, have all been popular. These songs are widely played in the band’s shows.

When you listen to the album, you will notice a mix of relaxing tunes and upbeat, loud songs, the kind that will make you want to get up and groove to the music. The album’s songs clearly don’t disappoint. The band was able to successfully mix different tunes that will appeal even to non-rock fans. Nick Hexum, Tim Mahoney, Chad Sexton, and SA Martinez were great in their respective roles. Their combined efforts gave way to the birth of a very great-sounding record that will surely appeal to all fans and music lovers.

You can go for months with nothing on your CD players but Music. 311 was able to come out with a great sounding record and managed to captivate their hardcore fans. This just goes to show that you don’t really have to be the hottest thing in the industry right now. All you need is a team of talented musicians to come up with a great-sounding record.

Since it’s recent release in April 2009, the Samsung LN32B460 has been flying off the shelves everywhere. This nifty 32 inch screened TV is top quality when it comes to both picture and audio.

Its technological features are top of the line. However, there are some qualities of this HDTV that some shoppers are not one hundred percent clued up on. So what is 720p technology?

720 stands for the amount of horizontal scans on the screen. It can also sometimes stand for 720 pixels of vertical resolution. The letter p stands for progressive scans.

A typical 720p HDTV screen with 16:9 widescreen resolution has a vertical resolution of 720 pixels and a horizontal resolution of 1280 pixels. That means it has a total of 921,600 pixels. This will provide nothing but crystal clear images for viewers.

HDTV technology has come a long way and the more pixels an HDTV’s screen has, the higher the image quality it will show. If you were to compare the image quality between a mobile phone camera and a digital camera, it would be clear to see that the digital camera’s images would be of much higher quality. This is because digital camera images have more pixels than mobile phone cameras. HDTVs follow the same principal – the more pixels the better.

The Samsung LN32B460 has lots of other cool features including its SRS TruSurround HD. This technology, helped by the TVs two 10 watt speakers, helps to give the viewer rich bass sounds with high frequency detail and clear dialogue, making audio more realistic than ever.

This Samsung model also comes with a game mode feature. The game mode is specially tailored for video gaming by enhancing certain audio features and colors. It also speeds up the image processing response time which helps to fight motion blur when it comes to action or sports games. This is all controlled via a touch of a button on your remote control.

Contemporary low voltage garden lighting requires just three parts: a 12v transformer to provide a safe low voltage power supply; a cable to distribute the power supply to where it’s needed; and the garden light fittings.

First though it is vital to select which type of lighting (traditional incandescent bulbs or LEDs) and to gauge the rating of the transformer necessary to run the lights (which depends on how bright they are and how many are required).

We shall examine the two systems (LED and conventional) more closely in a bit, but for immediate purposes it is only necessary to know that both use the same underlying ideas.

To assess the size of transformer needed, calculate the number of watts in total for all the individual light fixtures and buy a transformer that states it can handle that amount of power (for example, a pair of 20w spotlights plus 4 10w path markers produce a total load of 80w).

As with any mains powered device, the transformer must be situated indoors and the cable connected to it and then routed into the garden.

The cable itself applies a load to the system, in addition to the load created by the light fittings, which you should allow for when calculating the correct transformer size. This is typically stated on the packaging and increases in line with the cable length, which imposes an effective limit on the length of cable.

You can easily tell whether your cable is getting too long because the lights appear dimmer, most noticeably at the furthest point from the transformer. A simple solution is to loop the cable back (if necessary connect an additional length) to a point near to the start, but ensure you maintain polarity. The cable contains two separate strands of wire and you must not cross connect them – there is almost always a mark of some kind running along the plastic coating on one of the strands.

When your cable has been connected and laid out, attach each low voltage garden light fitting in turn by cutting the cable near to where the fitting is and connecting it back with the light’s own cable also attached.

As mentioned already, both traditional incandescent and LED garden lights are widely available these days, bringing the added confusion of deciding which to buy and how to mix the 2 types.

LED lights consume an awful lot less energy and produce negligible heat. LED light is also brighter and more defined in comparison to regular incandescent light, which may be considered either a benefit or a bit hard on the eyes depending on what types of effect you want to obtain.

In general you cannot attach LED light fittings to a normal low voltage garden system, and the reverse also applies. In the first case, the LED light will likely fail within weeks and in the second, the LED transformer (commonly called an LED driver) will quickly self-destruct.

There are a few exceptions -some types of LED light are suitable for use on a conventional low voltage system, but these will state this on their packaging. Otherwise, to mix LED and incandescent low voltage garden lights you will need to lay out two separate cables – one connected to a regular 12v transformer and one to a constant voltage LED driver – and match the correct sorts of light fitting to the appropriate cable.

There are significant advantages to running both kinds of garden lighting. LED light has a distinct quality that makes possible a whole new range of lighting effects and, when combined, both kinds of lighting system can be deployed so as to enhance or contrast each other, creating lighting effects beyond the capabilities of either one alone.
